Latest studies show that the compound contained in the skins of almonds increase body’s immunity to infections such as colds and flu, says The Telegraph. Scientists from the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, and University Hospital of Messina conducted the experiments that revealed the unique properties of almonds. The skin of almonds enhances the ability of white blood cells to find viruses and increases the activity of natural mechanism, which prevents viruses replicate and spread in the body. The scientists revealed a remarkable fact that even after the almonds have been digested, there is an increase in immune defense against viruses.
